My name is Al Cota and I’m a motivated and passionate design professional with extensive experience in visual design, motion design and art direction. As a child I would sit with my grandpa who was a self taught sign painter, watch him hand letter and build signs in his home workshop. He was definitely a huge influence on me. In high school I studied traditional offset printing and learned about digital layout and how to run presses. I started my motion design journey in entertainment in L.A. back in the DVD days and have never looked back. 

 

My background has been a mix of boutique, traditional agency and corporate environments. I enjoy working alongside like minded passionate people in collaborative environments. I am inspired by new challenges especially those that allow me to develop and acquire new skills. I'm a west coast guy through and through, I grew up in Los Angeles, I spent 11 years in Seattle and now I reside in San Diego with my partner Yuliya and we have a 2 year old son, Aleks. In my spare (who am I kidding, there is no spare time with a toddler!) time I enjoy chasing my son around in the sunshine and eating delicious food with my partner!
